For approximately three years, owning PayPal (PYPL) stock has been an exercise in frustration. Since its sharp 2022 downturn, the security has been range-bound between $50 and $90, giving rise to the ‘PainPal’ moniker. Now, with the stock’s price revisiting it’s April lows, market sentiment is scraping rock bottom.

Yet, this stagnant stock price creates a misleading impression of this business that is sharply at odds with the company’s actual performance. Despite the stock’s poor showing, PayPal’s core operations have persistently delivered steady growth in both revenue and profits. This gap between perception and reality forms the investment thesis: the market is fixated on a story of decline, completely overlooking a series of potent, near-term growth drivers that are now activating.
